(March 26, 2008)- DayOne Health, a leading outpatient weight loss surgery program located in the 900 North Michigan Surgery Center in downtown Chicago, has been designated as a Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence (BSCOE) by the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS). A pioneer in the industry, DayOne Health at 900 North Michigan Surgery Center was the first center to perform the Laparoscopic Adjustable Gastric Banding procedure (LAP-BAND(R)) as an outpatient procedure in the United States starting in November of 2001. To earn the Center of Excellence designation, DayOne Health underwent a thorough review process, including site inspections, during which all aspects of the program's surgical processes were closely examined and data on surgical outcomes were collected and analyzed.
